





Scholarship - Women and Gender Studies, Acadia University-
The Canadian Federation of University Women Wolfville Scholarship will be awarded to a graduate or undergraduate student majoring or minoring in Women’s and Gender Studies or who is enrolled in one of the three core courses of the program. The recipient will be rewarded for producing a project that successfully bridges the gap between course work and community work.
This in-course scholarship was established by the Canadian Federation of University Women of Wolfville, Nova Scotia in July 2005. For more information see The Acadia Women's Studies website and the W.G.S. Awards page.
The Education Council - Wolfville is a Canadian registered charitable organization, associated with CFUWWolfville, which receives, manages and disburses funds in support of education for women.
CFUW Dr. Marion Elder Grant Fellowship:
The $11,000 CFUW Dr. Marion Elder Grant Fellowship, funded by the Education Council – Wolfville, is awarded annually on a national basis to a woman pursuing doctoral studies. More than $150,000 in Fellowships have been awarded since 1992.
The 2009-2010 Fellowship is held by Rachel Dioso-Villa, a doctoral candidate in Criminology, Law and Society, at the University of California, Irvine. Ms. Dioso-Villa is examining the rationale, including judicial bias, for the admissibility of scientific expert testimony in both criminal and civil court cases. Ms. Dioso-Villa graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. Honours in Psychology and Criminology and an M.A. in Criminology.
